The objective of CYANOTOX is to develop an early warning system for toxic cyanobacterial blooms. This early warning system can be useful for drinking water production, fish farming and in recreation. The aims of the project are to develop more sensitive analytical methods for toxin analysis, to characterise the molecular biological regulation of toxin synthesis and to determine the environmental conditions under which toxin synthesis is enhanced.
