I visited Tromsø for the first time in 2005 when they were hosting the Nelson Mandela 46664 Arctic concert on June 11 2005. Tromsø is the largest city in the Nordic countries north of the Arctic Circle and has the world’s northernmost university, brewery and cathedral. At a latitude of nearly 70 degrees north, the same latitude as Alaska and Siberia, the centre of the north has 62,000 residents.
